SR&ED / Technical Writer
Atimi is currently seeking a Technical Writer for Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) and project documentation for a full-time, permanent position for our downtown Vancouver office. The successful candidate will have experience with SR&ED information gathering and documentation, technical writing and editing, and have key strengths in the areas of teamwork, managing commitments, and technical expertise.
Provide deliverables and develop standards, processes, and techniques for SR&ED and other incentive programs
Perform technical interviews and ensure all essential technical information is gathered for the preparation of technical descriptions
Differentiate between routine operations and genuine experimentation in order to identify qualifying activities and projects
Stay current with the latest developments and changes with SR&ED and other incentive programs
Deliver documentation in the following areas:
Software requirements specifications, user stories, and user journeys
Operations (internal meetings/processes)
End user documentation
SR&ED writing experience is a requirement to apply
Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Expert knowledge of content development and publication tools, including MS Office and Wikis
Thorough understanding and experience with all stages of the software development process, including requirements specification, development, quality assurance, and deployment
Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive deadlines while working with multiple projects/stakeholders
Contribute to the development of standards, processes, techniques in information development
Develop innovative solutions to complex problems that are consistent with the objectives of the functional group
Perform your work without significant direction, and exercise latitude in determining objectives and approach for individual projects
Experience with project tracking tools, including JIRA and Trello, is an asset
Experience in an iOS and/or Android development environment or Mac OS X experience is an asset
This job is open to all candidates in Canada, but preference is given to those who can work out of our Vancouver office. Relocation support is not provided.
